About LTIPS
People across the globe aspire to live in peace, as it is an essential foundation for any meaningful development. At ICESCO, our dedication to peace is firmly grounded in the belief that human and social development cannot be achieved without it. A stable, peaceful, and secure environment is the fundamental condition that allows human activity to emerge, grow, and thrive.
Therefore, ICESCO's Peace 360 approach is a holistic framework that advances peace across several dimensions including social, cultural, educational, economic and humanitarian. It recognizes that sustainable peace depends on connected systems – inclusive education, mental health and psychosocial support, intercultural dialogue, and community resilience.
Peacebuilding, moreover, requires the capacity-building and mobilization of key social actors capable of driving social transformation and creating environments that support social cohesion. Among these actors, young people, women, and religious leaders are particularly vital due to the pivotal role they can play in peacebuilding efforts, the promotion of dialogue, and the prevention of violence.
Across Member States and beyond, young people are driving efforts to build resilient, inclusive communities. Strengthening their skills in leadership, collaboration, and empathy enables them to respond effectively to challenges of conflict, inequality, and instability. The LTIPS program serves then as a platform for learning, exchange, and the sharing of experiences and best practices among young leaders from the Islamic world and beyond for more peaceful societies. Through practical, community-based initiatives, the ICESCO Youth Peace Ambassadors who are trained through the program contribute to strengthening social cohesion and advancing sustainable development.
