    Youth, Culture, Peace and Wellbeing: The 20th Anniversary of the Afro-Arab Youth Council 

    In the framework of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Afro-Arab Youth Council, we launched the third cohort of the LTIPS program in Kampala, Uganda.

    During this forum, about 40 youth peace ambassadors from different part of the world were brought together to interact, engage and collaborate under the theme “Youth, Peace, Culture and Wellbeing”. This forum included a week-long series of workshops, training sessions and roundtable discussions highlighting the relationship between culture, sports, and good health. Prior to the opening session, Dr. Salim M. AlMalik, ICESCO Director-General, along with a delegation of representatives from Member States of the Afro-Arab Youth Council, visited the Innovation Laboratory at Makerere University, where they were briefed on the modern technologies and equipment available at the lab.

    This forum also hosted high-level officials to interact with the youth on the importance of culture in promoting peace and social cohesion and driving economic transformation. Some of the attendees include: H.E Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, president of Uganda, His Excellency, Dr. Salim AlMalik, Director General of ICESCO, Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo, Ugandan Minister of State for Higher Education, Dr. Abbas Agaba, Secretary-General of the Afro-Arab Youth Council, Ms. Rosie Agoi, Secretary-General of the Ugandan National Commission for UNESCO and ICESCO, Ms. Asmaa El Hilali, from the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication of the Kingdom of Morocco.
