    ICESCO Director General Receives the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Rabat

    Dr. Salim M. AlMalik, Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), received Mr. Mohammad Harun Al Rashid, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to the Kingdom of Morocco, and together discussed ways of developing cooperation between ICESCO and Bangladesh in areas of common interest.

    At the beginning of the meeting, held on Monday, 27 May 2024, at ICESCO Headquarters, in Rabat, Dr. AlMalik stressed the Organization’s keenness to strengthen its partnership with Bangladesh, which has already witnessed the joint implementation of a set of qualitative programs and projects, noting that ICESCO’s new vision strengthens communication with Member States to identify their orientations and needs to design appropriate programs and activities for each country.

    He also explained that ICESCO’s doors are open to everyone with the view of benefiting Member States and Muslim communities worldwide, supporting the efforts of Member States in developing the fields of education, science and culture, and building the capacities of youth and women by leveraging modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence applications and metaverse, to keep up with the relevant global developments.

    For his part, the ambassador of Bangladesh commended ICESCO’s roles in developing the fields of education, science and culture in its Member States, expressing his country’s keenness to develop future cooperation with the Organization.

    The meeting discussed the key programs and projects implemented by ICESCO in cooperation with the competent parties in Bangladesh, in coordination with the National Commission, and considered future cooperation proposals.
