    ICESCO and two Pakistani Universities Explore Prospects for Cooperation in Science and Technology

    The delegation of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) held two meetings respectively with the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and Quaid-e-Azam University in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The meetings discussed prospects for cooperation between the Organization and the two universities in the fields of science and technology as well as future initiatives.

    In the first meeting, the ICESCO delegation made up of Dr. Raheel Qamar, Head of Science and Technology Sector, and Dr. Muhammad Sharif, Advisor in the Sector, met Dr. Osman Hasan, Rector of NUST. The two parties discussed the potential joint initiatives between ICESCO and NUST in the field of training, space sciences and scholarships. Dr. Qamar reaffirmed that ICESCO Chair, which has been recently established at the University, will yield positive outcomes in the fields of artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship.
    For his part, Dr. Hasan expressed his interest in strengthening cooperation with ICESCO and implementing joint programs in the fields of science and technology for the benefit of students from the Islamic world.

    The second meeting, held with Dr. Muhammad Ali, Vice-Chancellor of Quaid-e-Azam University, considered the establishment of ICESCO Chair for Big Data Analysis and Advanced Computing at the University to contribute to the development of scientific research and help students acquire the necessary knowledge for finding solutions for current challenges.
