    ISESCO Director General takes part in ministerial meeting held as part of 5th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan

    The Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, took part in the ministerial meeting held as part of the 5th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, held in Baku, Azerbaijan. During the meeting, Dr Altwaijri delivered a presentation on the growing importance of intercultural and interfaith dialogue, amid the current conflicts and tensions in the world, as a means of mitigating the effects of these conflicts and tensions that threaten the stability of human communities, fuel regional and global crises and undermine world peace.

    Moreover, he stressed the need to continuously promote the values of intercultural and interfaith dialogue by organizing international conferences, regional symposia and seminars, and through educational institutions, the media, cultural platforms and religious discourse.

    In addition, ISESCO Director General pointed out that ISESCO has pioneered the dissemination of the culture of dialogue in the Islamic world and beyond, holding international and regional conferences on dialogue issues, taking part in and presenting the Islamic world’s vision on intercultural dialogue at international forums, and publishing in-depth studies on the principles, issues, objectives, and obstacles to dialogue and the ways to overcome them. He also stated that ISESCO continues its efforts in this field and expands its partnerships with international and regional organizations to strengthen these efforts, build bridges of understanding and coexistence among peoples and uphold global peace and security.
