ISESCO supports organization of workshops on “interfaith dialogue and integration of Muslim students in European universities”

The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) supports the organization of a number of workshops on “interfaith dialogue and integration of Muslim students in European universities”, to be held by COREIS in cooperation with the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

These workshops will be held in the Universities of Milano, Rome, Venise and Padova next May.

The workshops aim at promoting Islamic cultural action outside the Islamic world; spreading peace values; countering all forms of zealotry, hatred and violence; strengthening Islamic identity in Europe in its relation with institutions and the challenge of migration; and helping foreign students to integrate in European universities. They also seek to contribute to setting the outlines and public policies to integrate students in European universities according to the priorities and challenges under discussion.

Besides, the workshops will discuss cultural conflicts and exchanges between European and Mediterranean peoples; share views on religious freedom and human rights; study the relation between security, migration, religious pluralism and modernism; and analyze the relations between the East and the West, repercussions on job market, vocational training, emerging projects and foreign trade, and healthcare.

These workshops will benefit 200 students with 50 students per university.
