    ICESCO and NAUSS Call on Experts to Join a Symposium on Translation’s Role in Enhancing National and Global Security

    The Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) invites all researchers and specialists to contribute research papers on one of the topics of the international symposium, “Translation and Security: The Role of Translation in Enhancing National and International Security,” to be held by ICESCO at its headquarters in Rabat from July 2 to 3, 2025, in cooperation with Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS).

    The international symposium will examine various aspects of translation’s role in enhancing security, including its application in intelligence and counterterrorism efforts, as well as humanitarian translation for managing global crises. Additionally, it will explore the influence of recent technological advancements, such as artificial intelligence and machine translation, on the future of security and translation practices.

    The symposium will discuss five themes:

    1. The role of translation in addressing security crises and strengthening national and international security.
    2. The strategic partnership among security institutions, translation experts, and international organizations.
    3. The linguistic and cultural challenges of security-related translation.
    4. Security translation and the challenges of digital advancements.
    5. Translation and cybersecurity.

    Researchers interested in participating must submit original, unpublished papers ranging from 12 to 20 pages (3,000 to 5,000 words). A 300-word abstract in Arabic, English, or French, along with a CV, must be sent to events@nauss.edu.sa and TPC@ICESCO.org by March 1, 2025.
