ICESCO co-organizes International Forum of UNESCO Chairs and Partners, Transforming Knowledge for Africa’s Future

In partnership with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and the African Union Commission (AUC), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is organizing the International Forum of UNESCO Chairs and Partners, Transforming Knowledge for Africa’s Future, aimed at developing research capacities in various fields in a number of African countries and strengthening South-South and North-South partnerships.
Dr. Kais Hammami, Director of the Center of Foresight and Artificial Intelligence, represented ICESCO at the forum, which kicked off on Monday, September 30, 2024 and lasts for three days in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. Dr. Hammami stressed that the Organization attaches great importance to Africa through a number of programs and projects on building the capacities of youth and women, digital transformation, scientific research and artificial intelligence, reviewing the vision and strategy of ICESCO, which is based on foresight in addressing future challenges, to contribute to achieving sustainable development.
The forum brought together a number of experts and specialists in the field of artificial intelligence, modern technology and foresight to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the future of Africa.
