Second Training Session on Psychosocial First Aid Kicks off

The second training session held by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication of the Kingdom of Morocco kicked off on Monday, March 25, 2024, on the inclusive well-being in practice to build the capacities of 50 beneficiaries of youth centers directors and supervisors in many Moroccan cities, to train them in psychological and social first aid, and provide them with the necessary skills to deal with vulnerable groups and crises situations.
At the opening of the session, which will last for three days at the headquarters of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication in Rabat, Mrs. Ramata Almamy Mbaye, Head of ICESCO Human and Social Sciences Sector, praised the fruitful cooperation between the Organization and the Ministry and stressed the importance of this training and of increasing the number of its beneficiaries to include directors of youth centers and supervisors of summer camps and associations acting in this field in several Moroccan cities.
For her part, Ms. Kenza Abourmane, Director of Youth at the Ministry, affirmed that this training aims to provide participants with practical skills in the field of providing psychological support and first aid to vulnerable persons they serve every day.
Then, the training started with the morning session casting light on the psychological and mental effects of crises and disasters and how to provide first aid in such situations. The afternoon session dealt with the principles and rules of assisting responsibly by respecting safety, rights and dignity.
