The Training Session on Strategic Foresight for Decision-Making concluded its proceedings, on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco. The Session was organized by the Center for Strategic Foresight at the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), in partnership with the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, aimed at providing the Ministry’s executives and officials with basic foresight skills and tools.

ICESCO’s Center for Strategic Foresight was represented by Dr. Kais Hammami, Head of the Center, who stressed the importance of developing scenarios for proactive decision-making to face future challenges in an ever-changing world, as well as acquiring the skills and visions needed for this task. Dr. Hammami added that ICESCO encourages innovation and knowledge in the Islamic world, through training decision-makers on how to handle strategic foresight tools.

Over the course of two days, participants took part in practical segments designed to identify and understand the main factors of change in Morocco and shed light on the tools and methods of foresight and future scenario planning.
