The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and the European Academy for Development and Research signed a memorandum of understanding on supporting scientific research in the social, political and economic fields, promoting experience sharing in the fields of civilizational dialogue, coexistence, peace-building and development, and organizing joint seminars, conferences, lectures and workshops.

Ambassador Khaled Fathalrahman, Director of ICESCO Center for Civilizational Dialogue, and Dr. Ibrahim Letos, Director General of the European Academy for Development and Research, signed the memorandum of understanding, on Tuesday (February 21, 2023), via videoconference, in the presence of Dr. Hicham Bachiri, External Relations Officer at the Academy.

On this occasion, Ambassador Khaled Fathalrahman appreciated the efforts of the Academy for promoting civilizational dialogue, coexistence, peace-building and development, stressing that the memorandum of understanding will open new prospects of cooperation between ICESCO and the Academy.

For his part, Dr. Ibrahim Letos commended ICESCO’s programs and initiatives, especially those related to civilizational dialogue and youth capacity-building in the field of peace and security, stressing the Academy’s keenness to cooperate constructively with ICESCO in order to build global peace.

The two parties agreed to jointly organize Brussels Forum: Sacred Between Moral Values and Freedom of Expression in Europe, in March 2023.
