    ICESCO and Kuwait’s Zakat House Agree on Implementing Joint Cooperation Programs

    Dr. Salim M. AlMalik, Director-General (DG) of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), met with Dr. Majid Suleiman Al-Azmi, Acting Director-General of Kuwait’s Zakat House. The two parties explored avenues of cooperation in the areas of social development and humanitarian services, in concert with the Kuwaiti National Commission for Education, Science and Culture.

    The meeting was held on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Zakat House’s headquarters in Kuwait, within the framework of ICESCO DG’s official visit to the State of Kuwait. During the meeting, the two parties reviewed the major initiatives, programmes and activities implemented by ICESCO and Kuwait’s Zakat House, aimed at training, capacity building, humanitarian aid, support for vulnerable groups and other areas of common interest.

    The two parties agreed to implement cooperation programs and projects geared towards social development and human services, particularly in the fields of education, health, capacity building and training, for the benefit of vulnerable groups and in remote areas.

    They also agreed to support educational establishments and supply them with the necessary equipment, and launch a cooperation program to define the executive mechanisms for the agreed-upon projects.

    The meeting was attended by Dr. Mr. Ahmed Said Bah, Advisor to ICESCO Director-General for Partnerships and International Cooperation, and Mr. Youssef Al-Najjar, Assistant Undersecretary for Financial Affairs at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Education.
