Preschool education support at forefront of discussions between ISESCO Director General and Guinean Education Minister
10 January 2020
The Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Dr. Salim M. AlMalik, today at the Ministry of Education and Literacy, met with Mr. Mory Sanganré, Guinean Minister of Education and Literacy, in the presence of the Ministry’s senior officials and the accompanying delegation during Dr. AlMalik’s current official visit to the Republic of Guinea.
During the meeting, the two parties agreed to develop cooperation between ISESCO and the Ministry in the next stage. They also agreed to organize two workshops, one for training teachers, namely Arabic language teachers, and another for examining ways to find solutions to raise the number of children enrolled in kindergartens, as the country suffers from lower rate of enrollment of children at preschool age in kindergartens. In this regard, ISESCO will support preschool education in Guinea by training human resources in the field.
Moreover, the discussions touched on the medical, educational and social caravan which will be held by ISESCO in Guinea and the indispensable participation of the Ministry of Education in the caravan. The caravan’s activities feature educating girls and boys, equipping schools with supplies necessary for the teaching process, and rehabilitating and restoring schools. The Minister confirmed the Ministry’s participation in the Caravan so as to fully discharge its role.
As for the Waqf Fund which ISESCO will launch to secure funding for its projects and activities in Member States, Mr. Sanganré stated that his Ministry will donate one of its buildings, once restored and equipped, to the Waqf Fund.
The Meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Said Bah, Director of External Relations and Cooperation, and Ms. Ramata Almamy Mbaye, Director of Human and Social Sciences.
