ISESCO Director General receives Senior Desk Officer for Arab States at UNESCO
The Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Dr. Salim Mohammed Almalik, today afternoon at his office, received Ms. Noha Bawazir, Senior Desk Officer, Head of the Arab Desk- Sector for Priority Africa and External Relations at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and together they explored ways to promote cooperation between ISESCO and UNESCO in areas of common interest for the benefit of Arab Member States.
Prior to her meeting with the Director General, Ms Bawazir took part in a coordination meeting with Dr. Ahmed Said Ould Bah, Director of External Relations and Cooperation. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Rim Jirari, Programme Specialist at the Directorate, and focused on examining cooperation proposals between the different ISESCO and UNESCO sectors.
It is worth noting that ISESCO and UNESCO signed a cooperation agreement in 1984 (renewed in 2010) under which a large number of educational, scientific, cultural and communication programmes and activities were implemented for the benefit of Member States.
