Coordination Meeting between ISESCO and KSA General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection
A coordination meeting between the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection in the Kingdom Saudi Arabia was held today morning at ISESCO headquarters in Rabat. The meeting focused on examining the organizational aspects of the Award of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Environmental Management in the Islamic World (KSAAEM), in their academic and information parts.
The meeting, which was chaired by Dr Abdelaziz Othman Altwaijri, ISESECO Director General and Dr. Khalil Bin Musleh Al Thaqafi, President of the General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection in the Kingdom Saudi Arabia, was attended by a number of officials from the Authority and ISESCO Directorates and Centers concerned.
On this occasion, ISESCO Director General and the President of the Authority delivered their addresses in which they commended the constant support and generous care the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Highness Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman extend to the efforts deployed by ISESCO and the Authority in the protection of the environment in the Islamic World, raising awareness about the importance of its protection and encouraging scientific research and researchers to develop its various fields through the Award. They both reaffirmed their commitment to continue coordination and consultation to attain their common goals and develop the Islamic action in the field of environment.
Dr Abdelamajid Tribak, expert at ISESCO Directorate of Science and Technology, gave a presentation on the activities of KSAAEM’s General Secretariat in its current edition 2018-2019, namely those relating to the administrative and information aspects and academic action relating to the reception and classification of nominations and follow up of the jury deliberation, saying that the number of nominees received through the electronic portal of the Award almost reached 200 from more than 40 Islamic countries and beyond in the five categories of the Award, which is greater number than in the previous editions.
In his turn, Mr Hussein Al-Qahtani, Director General of Information and Public Relations at the Authority, praised the exerted efforts and the achieved results stressing the need for developing the Award’s information plan, namely through expanding the scope of publicity.
