    ISESCO condemns terrorist attack on government building in Mogadishu

    The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) has condemned the terrorist attack perpetrated today by Al-Shabab militant group by a car bomb that targeted a government building in the Somali capital, Mogadishu. The blast killed 9 people including an assistant minister and a member of parliament, and injured at least 20 with wounds of varying degrees of severity according to the latest statement of the local security authorities.

    Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, ISESCO Director General, said that this heinous act is a crime against humanity and havoc on earth that Islam prohibits and criminalizes its authors, while affirming that ISESCO stands with the Federal Republic of Somalia, ISESCO Member State, in fighting this unbridled terrorism.

    ISESCO Director General also urged the international community to support the Somali government and its efforts in combating terrorist groups and restoring peace and security to all parts of the Republic.
