ISESCO takes part in opening ceremony of 42nd session of IFAD Governing Council

The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) is taking part in the two-day 42^nd session of the Governing Council of the International Fund of Agricultural Development (IFAd), which kicked off today at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome, Italy.

The meeting was opened with an address delivered by Pope Francis wherein he reaffirmed the importance of implementing the Sustainable Development Agenda for 2030 in order to eradicate poverty and promote food policies.

The meeting brought together IFAD Member States and ISESCO, and aims to explore ways to promote international cooperation in the fields of agriculture and food.

ISESCO is represented in the meeting by Dr Yahya Pallaviccini, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Education, Science and Culture for Muslims outside the Islamic World, ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador.
