ICESCO holds software capacity building workshop in Uganada

From July 27 to 29, 2023, the Science and Technology Sector of ICESCO is conducting a capacity-building workshop on technology in Kampala, Republic of Uganda, in collaboration with the Uganda National Commission for UNESCO and ICESCO. The workshop’s primary objective is to address the technology gap, enhance the skills of youth, and foster the digital economy. Dr. Adel Smeda, an expert in the Science and Technology Sector, emphasized the organization’s commitment to empowering young people in the Islamic world with digital knowledge to contribute to their societies’ socio-economic growth through initiatives, projects, and training. Participants, including university students and digitization experts, underscored the workshop’s significance in bridging the digital divide and enhancing young people’s capacity in the digital economy through hands-on training, interactive workshops, and collaborative projects, including the development of digital applications and modeling software to address real-world problems.
