ICESCO and King Salman International Complex for the Arabic Language Hold Training Session for Arabic Language Teachers in Côte d’Ivoire

The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and the King Salman International Complex for the Arabic Language are holding a training session on the “Basic needs of the teachers of Arabic for non-Arabic Speakers.”
The four-day session, which kicked off on Monday, November 28, 2022, in Abidjan, is part of the partnership between ICESCO and King Salman International Complex, and their efforts and visions to develop and modernize strategies of teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers and meet the priorities and needs of Member States.
The session aims to highlight modern concepts, principles, ideas, theories and hypotheses related to performance missions in language classes, propose ideas and practical applications reflecting the precise understanding of the knowledge and skills acquired during the training session, evaluate and criticize the working models and performance cases, and apply the new strategies for teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers.
More than forty education officials and teachers of the Arabic language from various regions of Côte d’Ivoire will take part in this session, during which presentations will address five areas: elements of the pedagogical environment; learning and acquiring the second language; teaching the elements of the language; developing the four skills; and examinations and alternative assessment.
Dr. Youssef Ismaili, expert at ICESCO Centre of Arabic for Non-Arabic Speakers, oversees the organizational aspects of the session. King Salman International Complex is represented by Dr. Ali Al Midwah, Director of the Department of Centers and Programs at the Complex, as well as the two trainers, Dr. Khalid Al-Suqair and Dr. Ali Al-Omari.
