    During Arab Ministers of Education Conference,ICESCO calls for adopting foresight in educational curricula from the early years

    Dr. Salim M.     This was part of Dr. AlMalik’s address during the Thirteenth Conference of Arab Ministers of Education, held by Arab League of Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), on Wednesday (May 31, 2023), in Rabat, under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist him, in partnership with the Moroccan Ministry of National Education, Primary Education and Sports, and the Moroccan National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, under the theme “Future of education in the Arab world in the era of digital transformation”. The event witnessed rich discussions on many educational issues.

    At the outset of his address, Dr. AlMalik commended the theme of the conference, which bears the seeds of renewal and modernization as it brings together the leaders of educational action to discuss the future and the digital revolution, explaining that a proactive vision is necessary to avoid the dangers of technology and Internet, which ICESCO focuses on its recent international conference on the reality and foresight studies that brought together experts from around the world.

    Dr. Salim M. AlMalik, Director-General (DG) of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), received Mr. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director General of the Arab Information and Communication Technologies Organization (AICTO), to discuss prospects for cooperation between the two organizations to support the efforts of countries in the Islamic world in digital transformation and cybersecurity, and strengthen the presence of the Arabic language on the Internet.

    During the meeting, which took place on Tuesday 30 May 2023 in the presence of the delegation accompanying Mr. Ben Amor and several ICESCO sector heads and department directors, the two parties affirmed their willingness to build fruitful cooperation on issues related to digitization, notably the strengthening of digital trust, to encourage countries to digital transformation and contribute to bridging the digital divide existing between them, and consequently achieve digital inclusion.

    ICESCO and ABEGS sign agreement to promote cooperation

    The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) signed a new cooperation agreement with the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) to strengthen the existing partnership between the two institutions in areas of common interest. The agreement aims to support scientific research in education and teaching, promote initiatives in the fields of open education, publications and translation, and create networks for the promotion of technical and vocational education and development of educational systems in the Islamic world.

    The agreement was signed on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at ICESCO Headquarters in Rabat, by Dr. Salim M.     Dr. Ahmed Said Bah, Advisor to ICESCO Director-General for Partnerships and International Cooperation, Supervisor of the Secretariat of National Commissions and Conferences, and Mr. Mohamed Hedi Shili, Director of the Department of Legal Affairs and International Standards, represented ICESCO at the three-day Exhibition that was launched on 27 May 2023, under the theme: “Effective partnerships for the goals of sustainable development.”

    ICESCO Director General Receives Palestinian Minister of Education

    The Education Sector of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) took part in the 107th session of the Committee on Educational Programs for Arab Students in Occupied Arab Territories, held by the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, to discuss the educational process in the occupied Palestinian territories and Israeli practices against it.

    During his participation in the meeting, Dr. Yousef Abu Daqqa, Director of Programs at ICESCO’s Education Sector, presented a report on the Organization’s efforts to support the educational sector in Palestine over the period 2021-2023.     On Thursday (May 25, 2023), the headquarters of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) witnessed the launch of the third International Congress: “Natural Resources and Sustainable Development: Health, Food and Cosmetic Applications,” held by the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, in partnership with the Faculty of Sciences of Mohammed V University, and Ibn Rushd Foundation for the Promotion of Scientific Research, Innovation and Sustainable Development, under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco, may Allah assist him.

    The opening session of the Congress began with the recitation of clear verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the address of Dr. Salim M. AlMalik, Director-General of ICESCO, in which he emphasized that the tremendous changes that have taken place in human life require concerted efforts and unified visions to achieve the goals of sustainable development by valuing resources through accurate scientific research in the fields of nutrition and agriculture, which highlights the pivotal role of universities, research centers and laboratories.
