The 8th International Novel Forum honored Dr. Abdelilah Benarafa, Deputy Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), in recognition of his contributions in the field of literature and novels, during the opening ceremony of the Forum, held in Agadir, Morocco, under the theme: “The Novel and Sufi Discourse.”

The Forum, concluded today, Monday 25 December 2023, was organized by the House of the Novel in Morocco and the League of Writers of the South, in partnership with the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, and Ibn Zohr University in Agadir. Furthermore, the Event paid tribute to the Palestinian novelist Rabai Al-Madhoun, and knew the presentation of several critical studies and testimonials in honor of the recipients by participants from Morocco, Palestine, Egypt, and Yemen, during roundtable discussions and open meetings between authors and students.

Moreover, Dr. Benarafa conducted a workshop on creative writing for high school students in Agadir, sharing his creative journey and answering students’ inquiries regarding issues related to writing and creativity.
