    Discussing Latest Developments in ICESCO-Lebanon Joint Cooperation

    Dr. Salim M. AlMalik, Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ICESCO), received Mr. Ziad Atallah, ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon to the Kingdom of Morocco. They discussed the latest developments in ICESCO-Lebanon joint cooperation in the fields of education, science and culture.

    During the meeting, which took place on Monday, September 4, 2023, at ICESCO’s headquarters in Rabat, Dr. AlMalik expressed the Organization’s keenness to bolster cooperation with Lebanon in areas of common interest commending the outcomes of the meeting he held last June with Dr. Firas Abiad, the Lebanese Minister of Public Health, during which they explored prospects for cooperation between ICESCO and Lebanon with regard to supporting digital transformation in the health sector, raising health awareness and enhancing public health.

    Additionally, ICESCO DG indicated that the Organization adopts a communication strategy with Member States in its efforts to identify their needs and design programs and projects that correspond to their needs and requirements. Dr. Salim M. AlMalik also pointed out that ICESCO is communicating regularly with the Lebanese educational, scientific and cultural institutions, in coordination with the Lebanese National Commission, aimed at reaching an agreement on executive programmes and cooperation projects.

    On his part, Lebanon’s ambassador in Rabat lauded ICESCO’s vigorous efforts in its areas of expertise and its embracing of modern technologies and modern-day requirements. He also affirmed Lebanon’s keenness to cooperate with the Organization on several joint programmes and projects.
