Appointment of Dr Salim M. AlMalik as new ISESCO Director General
Today afternoon, Dr Salim M. AlMalik was appointed as the new Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), following the nomination of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the approval of the Third Extraordinary Session of ISESCO General Conference, held today at Bay La Sun Expo Center in King Abdullah Economic City in the Area of Makkah Al- Mukarramah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
As of 9 May 2019, Dr Salim M. AlMalik will replace Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri as Director General for the remaining period of his mandate, and will serve a new term ending on 31 December 2024.
Dr Salim M. AlMalik has a PhD in Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and a PhD in Pediatrics. He held several positions including the advisor and General Director of International Affairs at the Saudi Ministry of Education, Advisor to the Minister for Health Affairs in Saudi Arabia, advisor to Saudi bodies, head of a number of over at the Saudi Ministry of Education, and member of local and international councils and commissions in the fields of health, creativity and innovation.
Dr AlMalik has conducted numerous research works published in medical periodical journals, books in different fields, and literary compendium of poems. He is also active in voluntary work.
