ISESCO condemns destruction of headquarters of “Palestine TV” in Gaza

The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) condemned today’s breaking into the headquarters of the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation in Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, West of Gaza, by five anonymous people, who destroyed the property, wrecked the broadcasting, filming and recording equipment and computers, and ransacked the Corporation’s archives, according to a statement released by the Palestine News Agency.

In this connection, ISESCO stated that this heinous attack is an unacceptable criminal act which contradicts with the Security Council’s Resolution No. 2222 on the protection of journalists, their institutions and working tools; and goes against the UN Plan of Action on the Safety of Journalists and the Issue of Impunity, whose implementation is overseen by UNESCO, in cooperation with the UN’s specialized agencies.
