    ICESCO Takes Part in UNFPA High-Level Meeting in Africa

    The Human and Social Sciences Sector of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) took part in the planning and coordination meeting held by the representative office of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to the African Union, with the participation of the Fund’s regional offices in Africa, the African Union (AU) and the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS).

    During the meeting, which was held on Friday, July 29, 2022, via videoconference, Ms. Ramata Almamy Mbaye, Head of ICESCO’s Human and Social Sciences Sector, reviewed the Organization’s programmes and in the areas of peace and security, women and youth empowerment, and the elimination of violence against women, noting ICESCO’s efforts to counter the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic through its project encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship among women and youth.
