ISESCO Director General explores with IDB Group President ways to boost cooperation
The Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Dr. Salem Mohammed AlMalik, today in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, met with the President of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB), H. E. Dr. Bandar Bin Mohammed Hajjar. During the meeting, the two parties addressed ways to strengthen and broaden cooperation by exploring new venues, namely science, innovation, and scholarships.
The parties also discussed ISESCO Waqf project, its policies and regulations, as well as IsDB’s contribution to its establishment and support to the ISESCO Donors’ Conference to be held at the end of the year.
It is worth noting that ISESCO and IsDB signed a cooperation agreement in Jeddah in 1987, under which they carried out several development activities benefiting Member States. They also signed in Marrakech in April 2019 an agreement to provide technical assistance for the Project of Transcribing Local Languages of Muslim African Communities in the Arabic Characters.
