Biography
He previously held the position of Deputy Executive Director of Medical Services (Medical Director) for the
Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, Central Region. Furthermore, Dr. Al Malik is an expert in
building strategic partnerships with international organizations and worked in developing national
initiatives in the fields of education, culture, and health.
Dr. Al Malik co-developed the first conceptual building blocks and fundamental plan for King Abdullah
University for Science and Technology (KAUST), an instrumental contribution to the modernization of
higher education in Saudi Arabia. He also worked as a consultant at ARAMCO, KAUST, and King Saud
University, and was actively involved in developing the National Innovation Ecosystem at King Abdulaziz
City for Science and Technology (KACST) and establishing international advisory boards for several Saudi
universities.
He holds a Master’s degree from the Health Policy and Management Program at Harvard University, an
Administrative Fellowship Certificate as a physician executive, and a diploma in healthcare management
from the American College of Physician Executives.
Dr. Almalik was conferred with several Honorary Degrees (Doctor of Arts) from Coventry University in the
United Kingdom, the Quaid-i-Azam University in the Republic of Pakistan, and the Eurasia University in the
Republic of Kazakhstan. He also received numerous international awards, commemorative medals and
shields, distinguished citations and recognitions, naming a few as follows: Best Leader Award 2023 by World
Business Angels Investment Forum; Justina Mutale Award for Women Empowerment and Iconic
Leadership by Justina Mutale Foundation; Global Good Governance Awards 2021 (3G Awards) by British
University of Cambridge; Golden Shield of Excellence 2022 by Arab Women Council for Social
Responsibility; Memorial Medal of Honor by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan; and,
Commemorative Medal from the Union of the Comoros by the President of the United Comoros Republic.
Dr. Al Malik was a board member of the Saudi Red Crescent Society, Al-Aghar Group, and many
international institutions. He also worked as an advisor to the World Health Organization, the Joint
Commission International (JCI), and, briefly, to several international healthcare organizations. Dr. Almalik
authored 7 books and is also a well-known poet admired for his beautiful poetries written over the years.
